Its root system reaches down 39 metres or more, drawing from the earth its full store of minerals and trace elements. Contains eight amino acids and the following eight enzymes key to the body’s metabolic processes: amylase, lipase, protease, emulsin, coagulase, invertase, peroxidaseand pectinase. It is rich in vitamins A, B6, E and K. Alfalfa has been traditionally used in the treatment of dyspepsia, for the relief of joint pain and as a digestive tonic.
