The maitake mushroom, also known as the “king of the mushrooms,” can be found growing at the base of tree stumps and around the roots of oak trees and conifers. It has been used to maintain healthy blood-sugar levels, boosts the immune system, promotes normal cell growth and helps to reduce body fat and cholesterol.
