Vitamin B2 (100 mg)(Riboflavin)

A factor in the maintenance of good health, riboflavin facilitates the use of oxygen by the tissues of the skin, nails and hair and helps the absorption of iron and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine). Vitamin B2 assists in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Before absorption into the intestinal tract, Vitamin B2 goes through a chemical process known as phosphorylation, a prerequisite for absorption. As a phosphate, riboflavin combines proteins to form enzymes. These enzymes help in the formation of carbohydrates and amino acids. Vitamin B2 works in conjunction with Vitamin A to maintain mucous membranes lining the respiratory, digestive and eliminatory tracts. Vitamin B2 also helps regulate the synthesis of essential hormones.
